A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away.” -Eudora Welty
What is photography? Is it just a bunch of images that we reminisce on from time to time? Photography is more than that, it is a way of remembering the past or certain things we see in our life that make us smile or laugh. Yes pictures can be used to make someone upset or cause hardship, but for the most part we use them to keep the memories we make and only have one chance at getting. Pictures are a way of seeing how far one's life has come in the time that has passed.
Classic Chevy depicts the front of a 1950's Chevrolet sedan in a black and white format. This photo draws the attention of people not only from that era, but people who appreciate classical automobiles like the one in the picture. I like this picture one because I am an avid Chevy lover, and two because its just a nice piece of classic Americana. Some people however, do not like old vehicles even when they are restored. This picture shows the audience that just because something is old does not mean it is bad. I like this picture and I also wish that I owned a classic Chevy just like it.
Watch Dog is a photo that shows a living creature in deep thought. The dog in the photo seems like he or she is starring off into the distance looking for a target to prey on or perhaps watching for a potential danger. I am a dog lover and especially a German Shepherd lover. These dogs are very beautiful, protective of their owners, and if trained right they are very obedient. This picture brings to mind all of these things and absolutely intrigues me to know more about the person who took the picture and the things they like.
To be a Kid Again is a photo that rushes childhood memories into my head like a tsunami. As a kid I loved the monkey bars and everything that involved climbing at the play ground. Just the feeling of being off the ground and free from the hazards of the sand and mulch would put an instant smile on my face until it was time to leave or I fell and hit the ground with force. I also love how the picture

seems like it just keeps going and going through the rings into the distance. It gives that never ending feeling that we like to associate life with sometimes.
Pictures are not just images, some tell stories while others bring back the memories of our childhood or those important moments in life we will never get a chance to relive in person. Whatever the picture might be, it holds a memory for someone somewhere. The pictures in the gallery all showed the personality of the ones who took them. The more simple pictures tend to tell more. The more they show the less they tell.

JOURNAL 1

journal 1: Throughout enc1101, we wrote many fictional papers as well as a few non-fiction. We had narratives, fiction or non, how to papers, and descriptive essays about any event we chose. The class was very laid back and was more like an hour long discussion twice a week. We didn't hqave quizes or tests, only papers and group grammar exercizes. I gained a better understanding of some grammar items and different ways to write certain papers. During the class we did not have many research papers or essays requiring research. I feel like I might need help with research and citing work due to lack of need in the past.
